Online Thrift Shopping Articles and Information

Do you actually save money when online thrift shopping? It depends. I mean, the general savings is there to be sure, but some would argue that the savings is lost when it comes to paying the shipping charges. I maintain that it would depend on where you live.

If you live in a rural setting where the prices in thrift shops tend to be a bit lower, then the true savings would depend on the distance that you have to travel to get to the thrift store. There is virtually no savings, and it would perhaps cost you even more if you have to drive very far to get to the thrift shop. Let me explain.

Suppose there were a thrift shop that you like to go to. On any given day, they may or may not have items that you want or need. If they have a great many things that appeal to you, then perhaps the drive was well worth it. On the other hand, if their inventory doesn't turn over very quickly, then you are liable to end up seeing the same things time and again.

Now, lets say that there is 5 or 6 things that you need to pick up. Your have the round trip to the shop and back to consider, and the gas you will use to get there, or you can choose 5 or 6 things from our store pay around $5.00 or perhaps even less, depending on the actual items chosen and save that money instead of burning it in gasoline.

Now, if the thrift shop is just down the street, we lose our argument. Or do we?.....

The fact is, we are constantly adding new product to this site. As a matter of fact, we are adding new product at a rate of 25 items per day, minimum. That's 175 items each week. Our inventory, despite the fact we are relative new, will turn over rather quickly judging from the brisk sales we have experienced since opening. Add to that the distinct possibilty of an item that we have not being available anywhere else. Also add to that the fact that if you currently spend at least $50.00 with us, you will not only get free shipping, but you will also earn coupons good for percentages off future purchases with our customer rewards program.

So, really it's all relative. I will say however, that when you compare our store to the local shops like Salvation Army or even Goodwill, you will get a much better value for your money because our prices are definitely lower, but much more than that, our merchandise is of higher quality.

We only put "gently used" merchandise up for sale, unless we specifically note that there are issues with the product. For the most part however, if there is an issue with an item, it is either fixed, and we TELL you we fixed it, or it just doesn't make it on to our pages. PERIOD. I've often seen things displayed for sale at the other stores with holes, or some other problem such as stains, and they still want top dollar for it. That's ludicrous. You'll not find that here.

We also guarantee that we will describe every item to a "T". If there is an issue, you'll hear about it here first!
